The European Film Festival Zimbabwe (#EuroFilmFestZW), is a premier cultural event established by the EU Delegation to Zimbabwe and its Member States in 2016. Over the years, the festival has evolved into one of Zimbabwe’s leading film industry events, dedicated to showcasing fresh cinematic experiences that transcend mainstream narratives. We celebrate both European and African cinema, providing a platform for unique and visually compelling storytelling.
The European Film Festival Zimbabwe aims to enhance collaboration between local and international filmmakers, engaging with local television stations for future screenings and collaborating with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe to formulate policies that will bolster the film sector.
The European Film Festival Zimbabwe programs include the BIOSKOP Short Film Competition, European film showcases, and masterclasses led by industry professionals.
The festival takes place in both Harare and Bulawayo.
